How a Thoughtful Website Helped Octavio’s Landscape Win New Clients in 90 Days
When I first spoke with Octavio’s Landscape, one thing was very clear. They were not starting from zero.
They already had years of hands‑on experience serving homeowners around Greater Boston and New England. Their business was fueled by hard work, referrals, and word of mouth. What they did not have yet was a digital presence that matched the quality of the work they were doing in real life.
They wanted a website that felt honest and straightforward, not overcomplicated. Something that would help potential clients understand what they do, how they work, and how to get in touch.
This is the story of how we built octavioslandscape.com from the ground up and what happened in the first three months after launch.

Starting with a conversation, not assumptions
My approach with any new project is simple. Listen first, design second.
From our first call, it was clear that Octavio and his team care deeply about their clients and their community. They show up on time. They follow through. They are fully insured. They offer thoughtful touches like better rates for single mothers, seniors, and veterans. They use quieter, battery powered tools out of respect for their clients and their neighborhoods.
All of that needed to come through on the website.
Instead of dropping their logo onto a generic template, we worked one on one to:
- Clarify their services in plain language, from custom landscape design and lawn care, to power washing, handyman services, and snow plowing and removal
- Highlight what makes them different, including their community focus and customer first mindset
- Create clear calls to action for booking a free estimate and getting in touch
- Design a layout that feels calm, trustworthy, and easy to navigate
The goal was not just to “have a site.” The goal was to create a home online that supports the business they are actively building.
Building the site: brand, content, and user experience
For this project, I handled brand identity, content strategy, and web design.
Brand identity
We developed a visual identity that feels grounded and approachable. The colors, typography, and photography choices were selected to reflect outdoor environments, reliability, and care. The brand needed to feel at home in both residential neighborhoods and more upscale settings.
Content strategy and copy
The content needed to do three things well:
- Explain services clearly
- Build trust quickly
- Make it easy for visitors to take the next step
We structured the content around real questions a homeowner might have:
- Who are you and where do you work
- What exactly do you offer
- Can I trust you on my property
- How do I request an estimate
From the homepage to the service pages, the copy focuses on clarity over jargon. It speaks in the same straightforward way Octavio uses with his own clients.
Web design and user experience
Good design should get out of the way and make things feel simple.
For Octavio’s Landscape, that meant:
- A clean, responsive layout that works well on phones, tablets, and desktops
- Short, focused sections that guide visitors through who they are, what they do, and how to contact them
- Clear buttons for “Book a Free Estimate” and contact information that is always easy to find
- Integration with testimonials to reinforce credibility and real‑world results
The result is a site that feels like an extension of their in person experience: respectful, clear, and reliable.

What happened after launch
We launched octavioslandscape.com in mid August.
In the three months that followed, here is what Octavio reported from the website alone:
- 4 new clients that came directly through the site
- 3 of those turned into ongoing maintenance contracts
- 1 of those includes a snow removal contract, which adds recurring, seasonal revenue
- A growing number of new prospects who now see them as a serious, established company
“There are four so far, but I’ve had many prospects and the reach on the page has helped me to be seen as a serious company. You’ve done an amazing job, which is why I didn’t hesitate to recommend you.”
Why the one‑on‑one process matters
Tools and templates are widely available today, but they do not replace real collaboration.
This project worked well because we built it together. We had honest conversations about:
- The type of work they want more of
- The neighborhoods and regions they serve
- Their standards for customer service
- How they want prospects to feel when they land on the site
By treating the project as a partnership, we created a website that does more than list services. It reflects who they are, how they work, and what they value.
That alignment is what turns a website into a meaningful part of the business, rather than just another online address.
What this means for your own business
If you run a small, service based business, you might relate to Octavio’s starting point.
You are already busy doing the work. Referrals are coming in. You know your craft. At the same time, you may feel that your online presence has not quite caught up with the business you are running in real life.
A thoughtful, well built website can help you:
- Turn website visitors into real inquiries
- Support long term contracts and recurring work
- Strengthen your reputation and make referrals easier to close
- Present a consistent, professional image that matches the quality of your work
It does not need to be overly complicated. It does need to be intentional and aligned with your goals.
